From an initial training in Radiography and Neuroradiography I went on to graduate in Psychology with Anthropology from London University in 1977. As a post-graduate I completed an interdisciplinary applied PhD describing how innovation and development is achieved within collective organisations.
I completed my Clinical Psychology training in the South West Thames Region and given my qualifications in physical and mental health my career in the NHS spanned both areas. I have published books and papers including a text book, addressing the interface between physical and psychological health.
I have post-doctoral qualifications in Clinical Neuropsychology and in those psychological therapies that I believe best describe human experience. I have accredited qualifications in Cognitive Analytic; Systems Therapies; Cognitive and Behavioural techniques; Focusing-Oriented Therapy and Coaching, in addition to having attended training workshops and master classes in the myriad other approaches to therapy, coaching and training that have emerged over the last 50 years.
I have been running my own therapy and coaching practice in the City of London and Westminster since 2008. During this time, I qualified as a Senior Practitioner in Coaching (EMCC) and in Team Coaching Mastery (ICF). My coaching experience started many years before this however, as a clinician, trainer, supervisor and clinical manager in the health and social care sector. Over my 20 years in the public sector I gained broad professional experience, in innovative service development and delivery; strategic and operational management; professional supervision; and in the teaching and training of professional trainees, managers, undergraduate and post-graduate courses and presenting at multi-disciplinary conferences. Over the last 10 years my coaching has expanded into the wider business, public and not-for-profit sectors. The focus of my work lies in working with the interpersonal and systemic relationships in groups and teams.
I have been privileged to work in an enormous range of settings with people of all ages and all backgrounds and in many different roles. My management experience along with dual qualifications in psycho-social therapies and coaching lends richness, depth and breadth to my work. It has shown me how people can be very similar underneath their role or position in society. Whilst each person is unique the psychological and social sciences have identified processes which describe us all. Processes amenable to change through evidence based models and techniques.
